特性
為一年至多年生草本植物，高約30~40公分。天鵝絨似的橢圓型葉片，葉與花都具甜香辣味；花可食，與「奧樂崗」、「羅勒」同為義大利菜的三大主要香辛調味料。

栽培要點
種子均勻撒播於濕潤細泥炭土，種子發芽需光，不可覆蓋。保持濕潤，約8天發芽。發芽後讓幼苗盡速接受陽光，以免徒長。喜冷涼、全日照環境，在排水良好的砂質土壤中生長最佳。生長期間應適度修剪，促使多生側芽，使植株生長更茂盛。施肥：種植前酌量施用“滿地王有機肥”混入土壤中作基肥；生育期施用營養肥如“葉綠精”做追肥；開花期施用“康普花精”等開花肥。

用途
新鮮的葉比「奧樂崗」葉更為香甜，普遍用於沙拉、乳酪、魚、牛肉、豬肉、香腸、番茄、馬鈴薯、湯、奶油、醋汁…等烹調；亦可擦拭家具，使其光亮。葉片曬乾後可做薰香材料、泡澡。乾燥的花可做花環、手工藝品、薰香材料等。孕婦避免使用於醫療用途。
