特性
多年生草本植物，高約50~60公分。株型直立，基部分枝性佳。葉對生呈披針形，因像柳葉，故又稱“柳薄荷”；嫩葉帶有薄荷苦甜參半的香味。紫青色花穗，花期長，花可食用；對蜂鳥、蜜蜂和蝴蝶亦頗具吸引力。

栽培要點
種子均勻撒播於濕潤細泥炭土，上面再稍微覆蓋，保持濕潤，發芽後讓幼苗儘速接受陽光，以免徒長。喜冷涼、全日照至半遮陰環境，在排水良好的微酸性土壤中生長最佳。開過的花朶宜摘除，以延長花期，促進側芽生長。施肥：種植前酌量以“滿地王有機肥”混入土壤中做基肥；生育期施用營養肥如“葉綠精”做追肥；開花期施用“康普花精”等開花肥。

用途
採摘嫩葉，加入蔬菜或水果沙拉、油魚、羊肉、雞鴨肉、番茄、湯、香腸、水果派、糖漿…等，更增食物風味，花亦可加入沙拉。葉子混合“薄荷”或“香蜂草”，可泡茶。葉子的浸泡液有增進食慾、幫助消化之效，亦可泡澡或用於蒸臉護膚。孕婦避免使用於醫療用途。
